I apologize. I'm just not seeing the doubling that is so characteristic of the classic '58 DDO. Just looked at several photos of the real deal via Google image search. Hoping others will comment.

Please don't duplicate a post about the same coin. Just bring up the old one if you have to.

It might as well be a different coin because the pictures are completely different.

It's not even close to the 1958 DDO.

@dbeck22, if you really don't want to take our advice then send it off to a TPG. ANACS is my recommendation because it is the cheapest. Please let us know the results!

While considering sending it off for evaluation/slabbing, check-in with a reputable coin shop in the greater Birmingham (AL) area.

I would appreciate it if this topic was locked so the OP can send this coin in to John Wexler and receive his input. I would like to hear the result. Not trying to be smug and tell the moderators what to do, but that's just my opinion.

Your photos just aren't close enough, sharp enough for us to effectively evaluate this coin. You need to get closer and crop your photos better. Also, pictures off a monitor screen are NEVER a good idea. From the photos given, I too don't see a DDO, sorry. Also, as mentioned, you should have tacked these photos to the existing posting. Live and learn.

I don't see anything that resembles the double die, what parts are you referring to?

Check to see if the 'GO' is showing that much spread. It is not that DDO.

Quote: I know its in horrible shape... but I am 99.99% sure that it is the 1958 DDO-001. But its very hard to see it unless you are holding the coin. The real one is dramatic enough that there would be no question in pictures. Side by side comparison of the pictures would show this for you very readily.
