This was an auction, and I won it with only one bid. Under PCGS book priced, can you guess a grade and something I missed that maybe made me the only bidder? Thanks!

Congratulations on the purchase! It looks like a beautiful coin. Is it MS(64)? Sometimes the PCGS price guide seems a bit higher than what certain coins go for on ebay--and some times the price guide seems lower--it depends on the coin, I guess. Maybe you were the only one in the market for it at that moment?

I'm guessing it made 66, but that mark on the right field behind liberty is rough

MS-64+ to MS65. 66 if it weren't for that obverse mark.
I've found PCGS price guide to be on the high side/Retail pricing. I think I've only payed PCGS PG prices a handful of times if I felt it to be undergraded or just really liked the coin.

That mark to the right of Liberty is quite distracting

I'd guess 64. Most people are going to be wanting to pay greysheet bid or less. I also have only paid PCGS price guide for a very few coins that I really liked. Also look at ebay completed sales prices as these are the true market value.

I vote MS65. Maybe even with a +. I like it.

Might make MS-66. The marks on the obverse may be exaggerated by the lighting. Very attractive.

the 82(S) are sharp and bold. this one is typical. surface preservation is AVG+ with the exception of the obverse scratch. luster looks fairly strong but may be broken across cheek. eye appeal is average due to that scratch as it keeps drawing the eye due to its location
MS64

I'll be the odd man out and say MS-66. That's a real beauty.
