Several of the banks in my area have temporarily closed.

Even thought I bank with 5 different banking institutions, I can no longer score boxes of pennies. Some banks still give out rolls as long as it isn't a lot.

Good thing before the coin freeze, I was buying boxes of pennies and am sitting on about 25 boxes.

Anyone buying boxes or rolls of your favorite denomination?

Also, do you think 2020 coins will be a key year?

They will be asking us to release some of out stash next. I remember times in the past where the banks were offering 55 cents a roll for cents. (Don't remember the reason why now?)

Still getting rolls, but reduced in number.

And 2020 coins a key year? Nope, not per the classic numismatic definition of 'key year'.

The banks I frequent for my quarter and half searching are now asking me for coins.

2020 key date coins? The 2020 W quarters........maybe. Only 2mil of each minted, seems plausible.

I decided to venture back in to my local bank about a week ago to get some rolls to keep looking for w quarters. I asked for 10 rolls and got them with no issue. Unfortunately, all 10 rolls were brand new Salt River Bay quarters. Pretty cool to get all bright new quarters, but they haven't released the W's on those yet, so not exactly what I was hoping for. I haven't even opened 9 of the 10 rolls and not sure I have a reason to. Maybe there will be an error that pops up that might make it interesting.

My main local bank is open by appointment only. They have boxes (cents) if ordered 3 days ahead.

Branches in grocery stores are opening back up finally, and sell me cent rolls as before (basically as many rolls as I want)

2020 a key year? From what I'm experiencing (supply and demand) I'd have to say no. But who knows for 2021?

I've been wondering this myself. The 2020 coins or even 2021 may bring a premium one of day.

With the mint having been closed to production for some products it only makes sense that there may be some items that may fit the bill as scarce. figuring out which is the question.
