Very new to collecting and came across this in a penny roll. Opinions needed. Thank you!

Looks pretty much like it did when first issued. Someone took good care of it!

So would it be considered "red"?

Nice coin, given the photos posted. May be a few light dings--hard to tell with the light source and shooting pics through a 2x2. Nice.

Yes, red--given the photos and light source. Natural light may show the coin better.

Definitely an uncirculated red 1960 cent. Nice find!

Large date. I have rolls of the Denver ones that have never been opened yet.

My first good find, gotta love roll hunting. Isn't this one a small date since the 1 and 9 are the same height? Also, is it something worth sending off to be graded?

You'll get more replies to this if you post larger images, shown right-side up. Try to evaluate this date sideways as shown.

This is a large date. Do some searching on this forum to find pics of both.

As to grading - if a coin is not valued at ~150.00, then you would not recover the money you spent to get it graded.

Also make sure you understand that grading is an optional service that sits as a side business to this hobby. While these companies offer some good info etc. online, make sure you understand the reality of their "product."

Do some homework yourself and you will find similar results.

If you like slabs, collect them, but always remember to buy the coin and not the slab.

In the future, PLEASE remove your coins from holders before photographing them. It results in clearer images for us to see. Thanks
