I was going through my off center cents and took a close look at the 1999-P and it looks to me like a Wide AM variety. Sadly the "FG" marker is not present so it can't be verified with that. I'd be interested in other opinions. Thanks

That is indeed a WAM reverse and congratulations to you for having a variety ( WAM) combined with an error (off-center strike). Not sure how often that happens. Most folks looking to validate the WAM tend to focus on AM and the FG locations. It's important to remember that in order to re-orient the reverse legends all of the lettering in UNITED STATES of AMERICA had to be redone. So the spacing in STATES between the A and surrounding T's is just as valid as a diagnostic as the AM in AMERICA. You do not need to see the FG location to validate a WAM/CAM. If the A has equal space between the T - it's a WAMIf the A is closer to the final T - its a CAM To me, this is much easier to see and confirms what I said above - you have an 1999 WAM cent.

Nice coin. The A and the M aren't touching. Thanks for sharing.

levelsofmadness, after your comment, I took an even closer look at this coin, and attached another picture below. I'm pretty sure the last digit is part of a 9. It seems to me that if it were a zero the slope of the left side of the 0 would have a sharper downward angle. At least that's my thought at the moment.

I agree it looks like a 1990. Note the shape of the jaw: Tie differences: It appears the last digit is closed. There are no closed 9 or 6's on the Lincoln cents.

Copy all of my images you need. Start a collection of information on a word page. Someday all of my images maybe gone. I pay for my image host and when I'm gone, I probably won't be able to pay the fees any longer. So by a storage drive and load up on them. I'm up to 11,142 now on my image host.

Yes, I took an even CLOSER look at my supposed 1999-P and I agree that it's a 1990. I certainly can't argue with Coop - thank you Coop.

If not, I suppose I could just go through each thread and look for them, because those images REALLY help a lot when looking for certain things like Machine Doubling.

Well if you got to CoopHome (note it turns blue) click on that link and it will take you to thousands of images with the subject matter covered. You could save the information and images on a word page. You could could take screen shots and same them that way with the info and the have the images also. Or you could just click them and drag just the images you want to save. That way you can post them to your image host and use them there, or create images with the screen shots, or just save the info and image on a work page. (The problem is that the Word page would let you print the information, but not allow you to post the information)

This is wonderful, thank you very much. Instead of taking hundreds of screenshots, I right-clicked "save page as" and it copies the entire page, which includes the pictures, so I can view them offline. Edit - You will need to do this for each individual page. Another Edit - Coop, all the links including the 1 for Machine Doubling, takes up around 248 MB. Edit - Don't forget about the 200+ images, on 7 pages, for Machine Doubling. I'm not sure if this works with all web browsers, but it does with Firefox. If anyone else does this, in your downloads (or whichever folder you specify), it will show a folder with the pictures AND a shortcut for the "offline webpage". When you double click the shortcut, it will open your web browser so that you can read the page + view the pictures, even without an internet connection. If you grab and move the webpage to another folder, it takes the pictures folder with it. Then if you want to, you can put them on a zip/flash drive etc.
