Good morning everyone,
Ive been gone for a long time and alot sure has changed since last year. I hope everyone is safe and healthy. I need your help identifying this error Ive been holding onto. Its a 1955 S Wheat Back and the error is on the obverse in the word Liberty. There is something between the B and E amd I cant tell if its another letter that smudged or if its a blob lol.

I appreciate your help. I'm glad to be back on here.

Right, it's a die chip - very common error on mid-1950's cents.

Yes, a die chip, which begins to suggest the letter I; hence, 'BIE'.

When these started to appear in the 1960's they were listing these. But they later realized that the chip was progressive. So they could have many listings for the same dies. So they lost interest was back then for these. Now coming back again. They just haven't realized yet, why it was discontinued back then yet.

Thank you for all of the answers. I appreciate it. So I'm gathering I should hold onto it and put it in a Holder? Also I did crop my photos I wanted to show the entire coin from a distance and then the close-ups. Sorry if I'm not sure how it was a bad way to post the photo.

Also is there something goin on with that mint mark. Or is that just a spot on the coin? Just curious because sometimes I can't tell if it's another Mark under there or not.

We would need a good close-up of the mintmark to help determine if it is a RPM. You should also investigate the varietyvista website for that info.

Also, here is an example of a cropped photo of your coin:
