I was organizing my nickels and found what I think might be a D over S mintmark on this nickel.
If I compare my (crappy) image with the one on PCGS, mine does bear a resemblance but I can't get a clear enough close-up of it.

Does anyone think this is a D over S?

Are there other diagnostics that would help? I wouldn't think there would be as this is a mint mark issue.

Just a normal mintmark. Spendable. It this were a 1950-D nickel, it would have been a keeper.

That year it was announced that it was reducing production and a lot of these rolls were saved. So a BU and a worn example are pretty much the same price.

I can't tell from your pics okie.

Here what it looks like on my 1949 D/S ANACS certified circulated Jefferson. Maybe, but not sure, those three dots to the right of the base of the building are die markers?
