I'll say MS-65RB (90% red).

Awesome coin ! When is wear on a coin not bringing it down to AU? Is it type, mint, year specific or is there a general approach? The discoloration on the cheek and jaw, is that wear or toning? I was way off base here grading it AU 58...

Shantiom, as copper coins age they bring on a darker appearance and lose the original shine that they had from the mint, this can happen faster or slower depending on the environment that the coin was in. In this case the coin was likely sitting on something that sped up the process on the high points. So while it may look like it, this actually isn't wear.
In hand, the luster will still be evident on the areas that are brown, indicating that the coin is uncirculated. It's not easy to tell in photos but a good clue is the evident luster on the areas that haven't browned yet.

Good strike. High areas on obverse--showing color difference (?)--are curious. Suggests some wear. Maybe.

This is one I really like now, MS65RB, I could see a MS66RB too, but I think the high spots where there isn't the same color leaves a little to fall back on the grade somewhat, so I'll stick with 65. Edit, to say I agree with Adam_E on the higher points, looks like a coin that sat on a piece of velvet or was in a roll of other coins in a plastic storage tube more than likely. Not wear on those high spots that are different colored. Adam just put it better than I did first call I made.
