That is Die Deterioration Doubling. Not a doubled nor split plating. The difference. The DDD show on the direction to the closest rim. The date to the right, Liberty to the left and on the tops of the Motto. The direction of the closest rim.
Photos, while large, are of low resolution. Image processing (automatic?) has greatly smoothed the coin's details--causing them to appear soft, contrasty, and liquid-like. With all that, I think this is a case of die deterioration--as noted above.
