Best opinions I'll give it a couple of days before the reveal. This coin was sold quite awhile back unfortunately, wish I still had it today.

All bars on the shield intact.
one or two tiny 'carbon' spots - this coin along with it's holder should be kept in a dry, airtight environment for best preservation.
From these pictures,
MS-63 or 4.

Pics are a bit overexposed, but I'd say not less than 64.

I find it difficult to determine the level of luster and accurate eye appeal when dealing with old copper,

But with this one I'll take a guess and bump it up to a 65 but without any substantiating evidence.

Am I alone in thinking this is a proof? Like, am I just seeing things?

That may be the nicest 2 cent I've ever seen, granted I don't seek them out but that's real nice.

Proof it is, you all were pretty hard on my baby, so you all fail my Two Cent course! It was more red than brown in hand and had a huge mirror flash, maybe 50% towards a CAM also. Of course these single static photos could never show that off well enough.

Sold this one from my Deuce Collection back in 2007. One of the last coins I sold. Really wish I didn't have to let that collection go, I started seriously buying in the late 90's and finished around 2005.

C'est la vie.
