Okay yall, due to the lettering in the "LIBERTY" and the almost transparent 8 in the date , would this be considered a double die or what exactly can you call this here beauty? Thanks in advance for the answers.
I'd call this an average circulated '58 D. No error(s), no doubled die apparent. Has the usual nicks and dings. Copper, being a relatively soft metal, can get pushed around to form interesting shapes. The somewhat weak 8 could be due to a minor grease-filled die. Sharper, higher resolution photos would help better determine what may be going on. A photo of the reverse would be welcome.
