Kentucky still has a FEW pennies! These were found in the most recent lot I picked up. The bank I was in Friday had an older gentleman turning in almost $50 in rolled cents. We struck up a conversation. He said he had been putting these away since the late 60's, and it was time to cash them in. This was just the first $50; he claimed to have about $300 more or so that he had not rolled yet. To cut a long story short, I have his number, and as he rolls them I will be purchasing them. The actual rolls were not really spectacular, but they contained way more copper than usual (about 2/3 copper). I averaged about one wheat per roll, including the two older ones below. I still have about $25 of the first $50 to go through, so there could be more goodies to be found! This is the angriest (MAD) cent I've ever come across. A crying shame about the condition; probably too far gone for Verdi-Care, but worth the try anyway.   Couple decent older Lincolns. Nice little planchet defect on the reverse of the 1920.    Ended up with this, also. The guy had to work to get this in the roll!   |

I found this in some rolls today. I'm not sure if the mint mark is s or something else. under 60x magnification it looks like a s mint mark with a e stamped over it tilted to the northwest. iI would appreciate all help with this one.   |

It's already a very good box, even if I skunk out on the rest, I'm averaging just about two wheats per roll. Really quite nice so far.

guess I need to start checking for stuff other than just wheat cents, I did find my first counter stamp  oh hard to get a good pic, it's gold plated Edited by yvairguy

Greetings all, Another three boxes and a bank bag down. Results are starting to improve. I need to get back to doing bags - I forgot how fun they were! Box 1: Wheat: 10 (all 40's & 50's P & D) 'S' Memorials: 3 Lincoln Heritage: 19 (all four, one 'D' mint) Canadian: 53 (1940, 1950, 1953 were notables) Other: 1996 LMC that appears to be a Grease Filled DieBox 2: Wheat: 5 (all 40's & 50's P & D mints) 'S' Memorials: 6 Lincoln Heritage: 20 (three varieties, one 'D' mint) Canadian 12 (all 'modern') Other: 1960 D Small date & a 2000 WAMBox 3: Wheat: 13 (all 40's & 50's P & D mints) 'S' Memorials: 7 Lincoln Heritage: 8 (three varieties, one 'D' mint) Canadian: 48 (1940, 1952 notables) Other: 1998 WAM, a 1970D counter stamped with 'X's like stitching on Lincoln, and a 1973 JFK head counter stamp. The 1998 WAM was the last US penny I looked at in the box! Bag: Wheat: 11 (1917, 1918D, 1944S) 'S' Memorials: 9 Lincoln Heritage: 19 (all four varieties, one 'D' mint) Canadian: 28 (oldest was a 1962) Other: 1960 D small date, 1969D JFK head counter stamp, and the best - a 1995 DDO (my third overall and second from this branch!) Finished that box. Final totals:
46 wheats (earliest 1910), 11 Canadian (earliest 1953), and 14 S-mint LMCs ranging from 1968-1974.
A good deal.

I might start some con roll hunting, so I got a question. Is it better to get customer or bank wrapped rolls?
