Looks like environmental toning to me. Best to remove coins from holders whenever possible before taking pics and crop properly before posting...thanks. Also, make sure to flatten those staples so you don't damage other coins when you stack the 2x2's.

Hope to see new photos--high resolution and larger. Probably reaction to environmental agents (resulting in toning). I've seen this before on clad dimes.

@dan, can you please post the weight of this coin? While I don't disagree with @john1 or @ijn, the weight should be a definitive indicator of which planchet was used.

Note the rims. Where the tops of the rim that have had some rub, the original color is coming back. The color looks close to red, but you should not see any gray/silver color present on the missing/partial clad.

You can see where the clad peeled. I'm not seeing that on your coin.
