Finally set my scope up so can take some pictures.
Here is a 1955 Poor Man's Doubled die ( DDD) with serious die cracks on and around the head. The black stain is actually in the surface of the coin and can't be removed. What exactly would this be called? Die cracks? Interior Die Break? Spike head? Hope you can give me some information on this.

We use the nickname "cracked skull" quite a bit here. Spike head is for die cracks that touch Abe's head so that could work too I think.

That's an impressive break. Here's a similar one.

Thanks MOS0239 - Your picture looks like an earlier strike from the same die that struck mine - if that's correct terminology. How were you able to find a picture of it so fast? Do you collect error Lincoln cents?

I was wondering "Cracked Skull" but would that term include the die cracks coming off Lincoln's head and going up into the letters toward the rim?

Rothery-

I found it here:

No, I don't really collect Lincoln errors but I have a few.

The coin is a Retained Cud, as well as Spike Head (Coop MOS0239 got it right). See the same site for the Cud listing:

Sorry MOS, was skimming and thought the graphic you posted was one of Coop's.
