I ordered a coin from a reputable dealer in my neighboring state to the south. The package had been in limbo from the initial ship date of November 30 until December 21 when it showed up. Florida? I don't need a globe to know that it's south, way south, of where I live. And why back to Maryland rather than Pittsburgh, PA where it's destined? Or will that be by way of Montreal, Canada?

@ballyhoo - I think it's the District Heights processing facility that is the issue. I've had a package with a coin album stuck there since December 16th. It shows being in Springfield,Mass today. It's final destination is Maine.

This past month or so has been very inconsistent with package delivery.

If it is a neighboring state, you might as well drive over and pick up the coin. Perhaps a little bit more expensive compared to shipping (depending on local gas prices and mileage), but at least you have your coin in hand and not wait forever.

I had this happen pre-COVID - a coin made it all the way to the Denver processing center, typically the last big stop on the way to me, stalled for a few days, then reappeared back at the original processing center 1000 miles away, and started all over again. One mistake coding a label or whatever results in enormous inefficiency. I also just had a letter delivered Dec 19, postmarked Nov 30. I bet I could mail something to Australia and get it there quicker.

This has been the worst shipping season I've ever experienced with USPS in at least 40 years.

It started back in July and took a turn for the worse in November. So far, everyone appears to be patient and is not over reacting with INR complaints.

Hope it gets better in January!

Overall, the USPS has done an outstanding job these past few months with most arriving within a few days of being shipped. I just thought this particular one was funny bouncing all over the country. That 1921s Indian Head nickel will turn up eventually for the DANSCO.

I think it was the dismantling of the usps before the election that caused such severe delays. Never seen it this bad.

Ditto. My packages are arriving, but widely variable depending on where it comes from. Some 1st class material can still take 3 plus weeks. Hope it clears up after the holidays.
