Here is another Draped Bust Half Cent I am eyeing. What do you think of it and what grade did NGC give the coin?

Sharper pics would help, but I'll say VF-35.

I'm at XF40 ... and am being a tiny bit conservative.

I'm sticking with my XF40, but wouldn't be surprised to see NGC hand out a 45.

The obverse is fine for that coin...no issue with the field "chatter"..obverse is a Cohen-5...I'm going EF45

If we're talking variety ... I believe it's a C-8

I know the number grade, so I won't spoil it. It's a nice specimen though :).

"East of the bust" ... you don't mean the spiked chin 'signature' do you?

Agree it's a Cohen-8, and the parallel lines in the right obverse field are characteristic of the spiked chin varieties. I'd say a nice, problem-free XF-40.

I hope the grader didn't detail it for the dark areas on the reverse that may be light ED - particularly on 'States'.

People, which photo do you think conveys the most accurate color of the obverse: the sellers' or NGCs'? Quote: I know the number grade, so I won't spoil it. It's a nice specimen though :). How would you know...
