I know there are different opinions on grading, slabs, and CAC, but I want to send this coin to CAC to get the sticker. My question is do you all think this gold coin is quality enough to send to CAC? It is a 1906 PCGS MS-66 2.5D gold coin: I want to keep this coin for a long time, so I want to ensure it is certified as best as possible.

@Coinfrog That is a good point. I only have this picture of it for now. Household goods are being shipped from overseas and will be getting them soon. I will be able to take high-resolution pictures then.

CAC only costs $15+shipping...so YES! If it CAC's, it's sort of like getting that coin in a "+" holder.

More important question is can you send to CAC? Are you a submitter or do you have someone you know?

Great points from both of you. Its not even that expensive, but it seems I have to wait and get approved to submit.

Evaluating photos on what coins CAC will sticker is difficult. If the coin is high end of grade and has nice luster, you should send it for a sticker. CAC seems to like the year and grade. PCGS has a pop count for the grade at 295, and CAC has stickered 73, so CAC has stickered about 25% of the examples. If the coin has not already been to CAC, there is a good chance it will sticker.

Just like the grading system as a whole, its a gamble in subjectivity. Paying the 15.00 to more or less have different experts assess the job the first expert graders did is not expensive. So... The real question is if you don't send it in, will you always be tormented wondering what would have happened if you had sent it in?

As noted above, the cost to request a CAC sticker is minimal. Once you get approved as a "Collector" submitter, my understanding is if it does NOT CAC, you get the $15 back (or can use as a credit for future submissions). The key point is that there's a tremendous differential in value with this coin between those without the CAC and those with a CAC. That's due not just to whether it is solid for the grade or not, but also due to "surface" issues, which is really what keeps most GOLD coins from getting the coveted CAC green sticker.
On the earlier point, "Solid for the grade" does NOT mean being just like a "+" coin, but means CAC believes it is an "A" OR a "B" coin, just not a "C" coin!

Great information and comments from everyone. Thank you all. I will be sending her in now either way. If the comment about getting the money back as credit is true, its a no-brainer to send it in. :)

If the comment about getting the money back as credit is true, its a no-brainer to send it in. :) Do indeed check with them to confirm their policy regarding fee return/credit for coins not getting stickered is unchanged for "Collector" submitters (it was NEVER that way for Dealer submissions). Even if they've changed their policy, for just $15, for a coin of that value, it's still a no brainer (I hate that term, but it's commonly used).

While you have decided to submit the gold coin to CAC, there's another reason to do so that I neglected to mention above:
Due to the pricing differential for gold coins with CAC's compared to those same coins without CAC's, if you chose to NOT submit it to CAC, when this coin eventually get's put up for sale (by you or by your heirs), bidders or any buyer will then erroneously assume the coin failed CAC, and bid/offer accordingly.
Unfortunately, too many people buy the label/sticker, and not the coin. Regardless, that's the reality of the market, whether we like it or not.
Another advantage of submitting it and you succeed in getting the CAC is that in my opinion the coin with the CAC will likely be easier to sell.
By the way, your coin is gorgeous!
