WOW, I paid much much more for mine. I wish that I would have waited. I was told that mine was 1 in a million, I guess they must have minted a few million.

My interpretation is that the company's name is 1791 of the United States and that they make replicas similar to those of Dan Carr at Moonlight Mint. Or so that was what I gathered reading all the fine print. The biggest question, why 1791? The United States mint was founded the following year.

Why are these website allowed to operate? If it was selling drugs, the FEDs would be all over it and the owners going to jail.

No they wouldn't because the site is outside US jurisdiction. They might have some jurisdiction is the hosting server is located in the US, but all they could do would be to shut down the server and they would simply move to another one. Or are you suggesting that the Government start censoring the internet like they do in China, Iran, probably Cuba etc. Only let you see what they want you to see.

Only 79 years before the Carson City Mint was even opened too! LOL I always get my coins from online companies that specialize in women's workout clothing too.

I have this coin, bought it for $2.50 on Amazon for kicks and giggles. It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen, actually even worse than the picture. A lot worse in fact, see for yourself. Apparently there's a Chinese conspiracy to elect Republicans through subliminal messaging on counterfeit coins, who knew?   |
