The spacing between the 9 and the second 1 jumps to the eye.

I'm at modified 44 D as well.

Not the best comparison, just did it quickly on my phone.... your coin and a genuine 14D. As Frog pointed out, the space is greater between the 9 and "1" on your coin than it should be.

additionally, the second '1' does not look like the first. both 1s ought to look identical. the second '1' looks like an altered 4.

Finally, the shape of the 4 was much different in 1944 than it was in 1914.
