I am not familiar with steel cents. These look odd to me, though. I think I've heard of these being plated. Do these look plated? How can you tell?

Just look at the edges, if they are steel, then they are not plated. If they aren't steel, then they are plated.
And yes their are thousands of them are are plated.

From your images, I'd say not plated and higher grade. The ones that got plated lose detail and are a more uniform shiny silver in color.

Looks like the 43-S is not reprocessed and the 43-D looks like it might be processed .
Actual Plating is done at the mint by Zinc Plating a steel planchet while reprocessing is done by outside company's by taking circulated 43's and stripping them of the Zinc and new Zinc applied . They will even do this with Choice AU 43's .

They don't particularly look reprocessed to me, but it's hard to be certain.
