Hey all,

So I ran into a bit of an odd situation. I've been sitting on these rolls for nearly 8 months now and had just kinda got done anything with them. I decided to put them up for sale, but ran into an issue with pricing. Simply put, I have no clue what they're worth.

Pretty much all ebay sales are of BU Tubes, not OBW rolls, and GreySheet prices say they're for OBW rolls, but the BU Rolls are selling at that price, and OBWs are worth much more than BU Rolls. So I figured I'd ask you all.

I tried listing them as auctions on 2 occasions to try to feel out the market. No dice. I have a feeling my price is high, but by how much?

I had a 43-P OBW and 44-D OBW roll priced at $250 and $650 respectively.

Any advice?

Grape as an ebay buyer and a long time collector I look at OBW rolls as someone took a group of BU coins and wrapped them in an original wrapper. I wouldnt pay more than what a group of BU coins would cost. Your going to have to deal with the thought that it's not OBW.

Sorry it's the nature of ebay.

You don't see those rolls go up for sale much if any . Maybe if you broke them out and sold then individually at a price you know . Also you'll be able to tell their condition along with any FS . I realize if they are true OBW's you wont want to do that but if you really want to sell them , take that into consideration .
Hey , who knows; You can find a Gem 43/2 with Full Steps that you can ask any price you want .

Do you have the history to know that they are true OBW rolls? If so, it would be a shame to let them go at regular BU roll prices. Maybe ebay isn't the right venue.

Fair I guess. I have no reason to suspect these are not original though.

I have the same question,3X GS is what I am hearing from rare coin dealers. The purchaser of these rolls are usually dealers not collectors, the rolls I am speaking to are the super rare ones, such as the 1935 S rolls with Penny's. I have a 1944 War Nickel roll, mint unknown, someone wants me to sell on consignment.

I would have to look at the 43 P roll for doubled eye and 3 over 2 anyway.
I looked at the auctions and I think they should sell. Even tho you raised the price to $294.95 plus shipping. As far as OBW goes, that roll looks pretty convincing. Good luck.
