Hi guys,
I have this 2014 D
Roosevelt dime and would like to know what is happening with the toning on the Obverse and Reverse? On the Reverse bottom right corner, it looks like the top shiny layer is gone.
On the Obverse, the only part of the dime that is still a shiny silver is the upper part of Roosevelt's forehead and above his head. The rest of the Obverse is a mix of darker and lighter shades that make the Dime look like a painting.
I soaked it in distilled water and dish washing soap to remove any substances on the Obverse/Reverse. But the toning is in the metal.
