1999 D Penny No Copper. Is It Worth Anything?

Hello,
I ran across this post last night and wanted to know what the outcome was for the penny in question. I too found a penny that appears that the copper is missing. It looks like any other shiny new penny with one exception. That being the color. It looks like the one dollar coin to me. Can anyone shed some light on what it might be?

If it looks R & R (Rusty and Ragged) then it is a spender. The missing plating examples must be mint gray with cart wheels.
