That looks like a 1919-S rather than an 09-S VDB.

But a 1919 doesn't have a vdb on The reverse and it .ay be was weak but it is there and that alone sets it apart from all other comparisons does it not?

Nope.
Firstly, I see no VDB on the revere. Secondly the date spacing is totally wrong for a 1909. Thirdly the MM position doesn't match. Fourth I know of no S VDB that is this late die state. Fifth I'm pretty sure I see a VDB on the shoulder.

Non seeing the vdb on the reverse. And I agree, it looks like a well-hit '1' on the obverse--with lots of circulation wear all around to really soften-up the details.

very first picture shows 1919, no evidence of VDB on reverse.

I sure don't see a VDB. How about a sharp close-up of this area?

Also, can we get a close-up image of the area where the VDB would be on a 1919? Lincolns shoulder

I am not even sure how the title of this thread as a 1909 can be seen? This clearly not a 1909, but rather a 1919. I too would love to see a closeup of the VDB.

1919 seem to be. 1909 space between 9 and 9 little bit different. An angle photo will help more, and also 9 to 9 at 300 to 500 x between.
