Split grade. obv. AU-50, rev. EF-40.
The wear flattened area of the eagle's breast feathers let this coin down a bit.

Lots of obvious high-point wear, not a trace of luster, and surfaces that don't look very original. On the plus side, no rim dents or heavy marks. Likely cleaned at some point but not too badly.
I can't go any higher than XF-40 for this one.

EF40 at best I'm almost at VF35 on this one, just a bit too much detail in the hair to go below EF for me. Surprised you guys are grading this one as high as you are. Details is likely for a cleaning too. That multi hit over the eye really doesn't help either.

 Other than the hair this would be VF-35 for me.
