This would supposedly date from the Kai-pao reign (968 to 975 AD).

The reverse exhibits a dot to the right, a configuration that apparently isn't cataloged. The size is fine at 24 mm, but it's a tad on the heavy side at 4.0 grams, which is slightly worrisome, albeit there's nothing I can see that'd give it away as a modern forgery, and it's out of an older collection. I like the patina on it, but of course that can be faked as well.

I don't have any. It doesn't appear to have a Schjoth entry.

Ok, well my thought that it would be attributed as 16.1e in Hartill. Oddly though the 16.2 series has larger dots on the rev like yours, but the cash's diameter would also be more like 27 or 28 mm.

I would attribute it as Hartill 16.2b. The distinction between 16.1 and 16.2 is "small characters" vs "large characters". Compare in particular tong (at right).

Ok yes good point @ks. I was trying to use the diameter of the coin as the primary decision point, but I'm sure that you are right about this.
