 Looks like a pretty nice circulated normal coin to me. Looks like it might have a re-punched mintmark at first but the date seems to have the same Machine Doubling or die wear?

Note on the date you can also see the same thing on the digits. So die wear is what I'm seeing.

Thank you everyone for your responses! Is there any special information about this coin because I dont have too many S mint coins they are difficult to find

your nickel is a proof, not meant to be circulated,the mint released them in sets.If you found it in change then someone broke open the set and circulated the coin.The mint of San Francisco made their mark up to 1954 on circulated coins, started up again in 1968, however only on proof coins in sets.

I respectfully disagree oddguy, There are 1968 D&S, 1969 D&S and 1970 D&S Jefferson nickels that were made as business strikes and they circulated. There is one of each in US Mint Sets. There were also the completely different proof S mintmarked coins in US Proof Sets.

120 Million of these were struck. It is a business strike example. TNG is correct.
