The exact time she checked the bag should be on camera and then whatever other people handled the bag should be on camera at all other locations throughout the trip. I watch "To Catch a Smuggler".

There's nothing lower than a thief! It's amazing these thieves are hired by the airlines, what ever happened to background checks? Unfortunately it happens all the time, thieves looting valuables from luggage. Hopefully American airlines will find the thief or thieves, and I hope they lock them away for a very long time! I'm certain the coins have already been pawned. Maybe AA will do the right thing and reimburse her, but I doubt it.

Might have taken longer, but they would have made it.

Sad all around, and looks like AA isn't doing much to recover the coins. Definitely a nightmare of mine to take collections through public spaces...
