Has anyone seen a Jefferson nickle reverse like the one pictured? There is a diagonal line from the far right column to the third column. It is not a 'nick' in the metal, it looks like an extra piece of column running at a 40 degree angle. The coin is XF/AU with full steps *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

The that area is incuse (Below the fields/design/devices, the it is probably damage. The only way for it to be a legit item, is if it is raised above the design. A lot closer view would be more helpful.

This is not incused, it is raised similar to the columns. It has been evaluated by a well respected dealer and his comment was, 'it is very unusual'

to CCF. I can see the line you are talking about, BUT cannot tell anything else from the photo presented.

Apologize for the fuzziness of the image. I am not a professional photographer. This is the best I can do with an iPhone. I have not tried to sell it. Is it wise to try to get it certified? Any comments?

We still can't give you an accurate answer without clear pictures. Try photographing it through a lens if you're using a phone camera. As I interpret the lighting direction, though, it appears to be raised like you said. Maybe a deep die gouge?

Picture is still too fuzzy to help. I take about 20 pictures to try and get the best one to post.

Hoping to see a close up of this coin. The roof line might be a match on this one.

Quote: The roof line might be a match on this one. Yes the line does match the roof line you are referring to, but how would that happen on the die? How many have been produced with the extended roof line? That is something I have no idea of the number. Thanks for everyone's suggestions on the photography, I'll work on it!
