I've posted this photo on Reddit before, but I figure you guys might be interested. I was looking through my grandfather's wheat cents and this caught my eye. At first I thought it was a modern Zincoln mixed in there, but holy cow! I regret not wearing gloves, but I was just so excited I forgot... at least I washed my hands beforehand. Should I send it to PCGS for grading? I'm still a newbie in coin collecting so I'm sorry if I seem a bit clueless.

to CCF! Would love to see better, closer photos of both sides if you can.

To the CCF Quote: Should I send it to PCGS for grading? Hard to say when you only show a small photo of one side. There were over 1 Billion of these struck so unless it is MS67 or higher it wouldn't be worth the cost. We need larger cropped pictures of both sides in order to evaluate your coin.

As others have said, it's a very nice coin but there were a lot of them made and saved. It is a keeper but very likely not worth getting graded.

Fun find! Put in a 2x2, but don't waste your money on professional grading.

It won't be in perfect shape for long if you keep holding it like that. to the CCF!

Sadly I do not have a better camera :( however I'm glad that I'm not missing out on much. Regardless I'm happy about my find.

Would be cool to see full, sharp photos of the coin's obverse and reverse. As others have noted, mountains of '57 D cents were minted, and many were hoarded by collectors, so there's a huge population of these in the low to mid range MS grade range--and many at MS67 and above.
Suggest not handling the coin with your fingers--gotta watch those finger prints on 'fresh' coins. All-in-all, a very nice coin to hang onto.

Nearly perfect shape, except for the fingerprints on the obverse! :)

Looks nice! Welcome to CC and thanks for sharing!
This is a common year with plenty of nice, red examples out there. Sadly, it's only worth a couple bucks and not worth slabbing.
