I have had this for more than 30 years and I was just wondering what is the most percentage off center you folks have seen. At first I thought it was just a blank planchet until I noticed the partial letters of "united" on the one side. Any idea how to value this? I know it is not much.

There thing you have going for you is that this was indeed minted. There are tones of blank discs available that were not. Collectors like to see at least a partial date or identifying detail, which your coin has the latter, but not much of. My guess is it's more than 99% off centre, but like I started with saying, at least there is a partial rim there that shows it was, without question, it was struck. Did you get this from circulation? Just curious, interesting nonetheless.

Yes it was from circulation I suppose around 1990 or perhaps a little earlier. Not valuable but interesting so I put it in a 2x2 and into my binder next to my other blank planchets. Around the same time I pulled a bent up penny from the stomach of a 40 pound tuna I was cleaning and put that in my odd collection as well.

Nice, I'd say it has good "eye appeal".. (because it looks like the profile of an eyeball)

It looks like a copper planchet. What's the weight? It should be 3.11 grams if copper or 2.5 grams if it's zinc.

Yes it is a copper planchet. Considering that I picked it from circulation about 1990, that means it had to be in circulation for at least 8 years. Perhaps sitting a drawer somewhere, who knows.
