The Type I & II ASEs and all related products and sets with limited mintages are going to make it very difficult for the average ASE collector to keep up this year. I'm in for all the individual releases and the 2-coin set, if I can get my hands on them.

Correct, Corbe.
Have they announced what the "anti-counterfeiting" measures were put into Type 2?
I'm still trying to decide what I think about these. I'll buy the Proof and S version this year and see how they look minted on the silver planchet before deciding.

@mrpapageorgio-
the mint's website states that one of the 'security features' is an 'anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation', whatever that means. maybe someone can clarify that. so that's ONE of the security features, meaning there must be at least another to justify stating 'one of the security features is...'. I have no idea what else there could be.

Quote:The Type I & II ASEs and all related products and sets with limited mintages are going to make it very difficult for the average ASE collector to keep up this year. yes, and that goes for some of last year's issues, too. i am that average ASE collector and I am not happy about what the mint has done, what they are doing, and what they're planning on doing regarding the ASEs. that's why I'm stopping my 'collection' as the type 1 reverse comes to an end. it's a good point to stop at. I won't be buying ANY of the type 2 reverse coins. I'm no longer buying anything directly from the mint, either. I'm so relieved, too. they've pretty much wrecked the fun of it for me, so i'll just not give them anymore of my money. i'll still need to round-out the type 1 reverse collection, but i'll figure that out down the road. I'm not going to sweat it. I have plenty of other things I can work on without turning to the mint for anything.
