Wow, the flare on the E in WE is insane. Incidentally, I have always wondered whay causes those flares on these Class VI doubled dies. For whatever reason, the thickness isn't uniform on the bars of the E or the I of LIBERTY (which always has a notch at the foot of the L). Would be very interested to hear an explanation of this phenomenon...

One of my favorite class VI obverses , and this one is a beauty!
Mine is red and mostly brown with a print and I was tickled pink to pick it !

I found one of those years ago at a local coin show. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=ldsI really like the 'E' on 'WE'. It reminds me of elf shoes. LOL I just remembered it might be a different number, but according to CC listing, they are the same die, but with a different number: Quote:
