I'm fairly new to the coin collecting world. What is this penny's value?

This is a very minor MAD that doesn't add any value. To be considered significant, part of the rim has to be totally gone.

I'd guesstimate you MAD Lincoln Cent to be worth a couple of bucks to the right collector.

If it were mine I would put it in a cardboard 2x2 and label it with the information of where and when I found it.along with what it is. Doing that is part of the joy of collecting.

This isn't Mad, it's just slightly irritated

It is a tilted die strike issue, not a MAD. With the fuzzy picture. It is hiding something thing. The motto devices are missing. The rim maybe rolled over. Just hard to tell from the images provided.

I'm guessing the Motto words "IN" and "TRUST" were damaged by a coin wrapping/rolling machine.

It is not an issue with too light, it is actually working against you. Also the glare follows hand in hand with the too light issue. But glare can also affect the lower light too, with reflection off the sides of devices when the angle of like is too low. Also reflection also noticed on Machine Doubling at the surface are flatten and now reflect glare. When you get serious of how to fix the glare issue, it can be solved very easy and can be done with a plastic grocery bag and a wire coat hanger. The light shining through the plastic remove the glare. (It filters the glare out)
