Hi I'm Cindy but I'm not to reveal my name so I'm cinnabear1 here. First time ever at any of these kind of sites so be nice... Please... :) I have a coin I've shown to two friends that are knowledgeable about coins . at first one friend thought it was feeder finger die scrape ...and another friend said it was a die crack. Either way at first glance it looks like a gouge in Washington's face and top of his skull. Upon closer inspection using a 10x loupe a very unique thing is seen it appears there's a dagger going through Washington's face starting at the bridge of the nose and at the top of the skull where the T in Liberty is there's another dagger going into the skull. Looking at the entire coin you can see both daggers very very .. The appearance is of an x-ray displaying the daggers in the skull

. It is PMD not an error or variety. One photo of the reverse might be helpful,But I am pretty sure it would still be PMD.

Most people here are nice.
But it looks like damage to me also. Where did you see a coin that is similar to this one?

I it is pushing out on the reverse, then it was not a mint error, but a coin that was attacked in garage. (bad things happen there) And after they coin murderer is done, he spends it and you found it.

To the CCF

As already stated, it is definitely damage ( PMD)
It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin and I see nothing on your quarter that could happen at that time.

Not sure what you mean about a coin very similar to this one being a mint error, but either it wasn't as similar as it appeared or the people who said it was a mint error were wrong. This coin is beyond a shadow of a doubt post mint damage.

I would agree I would agree with you all except for this:
How does close to the same PMD appear on two separate coins in separate parts of the country, at separate time periods, by two different individuals? Isn't that usually indicative of PMD? I'm not arguing your point. My brain just can't process how this is possible:

Those two coins really have no similarities beyond being badly beaten quarters from the eighties. There are millions just like them.

Agree, the pair of coins pictured are not the same. Feature structure is not identical--not even close.

Still waiting for reverse images. The coin does look cent, which indicates damage.
