. It is PMD not an error or variety. One photo of the reverse might be helpful,But I am pretty sure it would still be PMD. John1

Hi John... Thank you for responding. But since I Have Put this coin up for discussion Tonight, I have once seen Another coin that is Very very Similar To the one we're talking about And so if that is the case ,that they are The same Mint errors would that Mean That it's not PMD?

Quote: First time ever at any of these kind of sites so be nice... Please... :) Most people here are nice. But it looks like damage to me also. Where did you see a coin that is similar to this one?

I it is pushing out on the reverse, then it was not a mint error, but a coin that was attacked in garage. (bad things happen there) And after they coin murderer is done, he spends it and you found it.

To the CCF As already stated, it is definitely damage ( PMD) It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin and I see nothing on your quarter that could happen at that time.

Not sure what you mean about a coin very similar to this one being a mint error, but either it wasn't as similar as it appeared or the people who said it was a mint error were wrong. This coin is beyond a shadow of a doubt post mint damage.

I would agree I would agree with you all except for this: How does close to the same PMD appear on two separate coins in separate parts of the country, at separate time periods, by two different individuals? Isn't that usually indicative of PMD? I'm not arguing your point. My brain just can't process how this is possible: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/19...alue.203779/

Those two coins really have no similarities beyond being badly beaten quarters from the eighties. There are millions just like them.

Agree, the pair of coins pictured are not the same. Feature structure is not identical--not even close.

Still waiting for reverse images. The coin does look cent, which indicates damage.
