I have collected coins for a very short time just started actually and really interested in coins I have circulated old quaters,dimes,nickels and pennies from the 30's 40's 50's to present are they really worth something or is it all just talk just curious

I will look close to 30, 40, 50s and the others also for some errors. I do not thing so you have only spend coins. Reed more here and you will learn about. Hope you come with a really nice, rare and valuable one. I hope this for you.

Well if the center of the mintmarks are filled in, they are probably a broken post issue. (no premium for these though)

I wondered why the post could break off slowly, until I realized I was view the breakaway upside down. As the post continued to break off, it was getting shorter, but the bottom of the post would be the top of the devices. Thus when the post broke away at the bottom of the die, it is broke off lower, the area would be raised above the devices:
Mint-Mark-And-No-Mint--Mark--Or-Filled-In-Mint
But no premium, just information on how this happens.
