This looks like a plated cent.

My thoughts too. I would say it has been plated with something which has increased the weight above 3.11 grams, the normal weight for a copper Lincoln Cent.

And just to be clear, plated after it left the mint so only worth face value. As to any sort of doubling on the mintmark, we will need a good close-up of this area to help confirm.

The mm can't be Doubled as it was hand punched that year. Also agree that it has been plated.

Looks like a real plating company plated this one. The process for chrome is a three step process. Thus when the last coat is applied, the coin looks like the proof coins, but the coin is altered. The use cents to plate to show what there finished examples could look like. (Even gold color is added as well for a different color.)

Agreed, plated coin. Not a mint error, this is post mint damage ( PMD).
