1999 P Unusual Reverse Need Identifying What Happened.

OK I am not sure what happened on this reverse. The diagonal pattern does not appear on the script or the memorial, only in the background. If I understand correctly the planchet sits on the anvil die and is struck by the hammer die squezzing the medal into the die cavities. So was the back of the planchet scratched or a plating error occured at the die strike, enquiring minds want to know. Thank you for your kind attention. Regards

Looks like Feeder Finger Damage to the die.

I agree. I don't know why the plating looks like that. Almost looks replated?
