Looks like thread, or a piece of lint, either in, or below, the Zinc plating.

Others may have a different opinion.

It looks like a die crack or retained interior die break to me. That is a common area for these to occur on Lincoln cents. It's hard to tell which without seeing more of his head in a closeup.

@darr, first welcome to CCF. Second, while I haven't heard the term "bullet to the head error" before, I agree with @spruett that it might be a series of die cracks. Around here, we sometimes call these "cracked skulls".

I believe Lincoln was shot in the back of his head, but yes, point taken... he was shot in the head.

Thank you for all the replies. I said bullet because I knew that's how he died. He died in the 1800's so not a future telling coin lol. Cool thoughts. &
