I have this 1990 penny that is silver in color. I'm unsure of it's origin or value, and even the material it's made from. It's the size of a normal penny, which leads me to believe it is plated and not mistruck on another coin. However, I'm no expert and would love any information
Likely plated with fingerprints apparent, especially on the obverse. No value above 1 cent. Should weigh 2.5 grams, plus perhaps a fraction of a gram due to plating material.
Plating it with steel or nickel, does not make it a silver coin. Just like gold plating on a coin doesn't make the coin, all gold. Just an altered surface coin. Worth face value. If it were struck on a silver dime planchet, the rim would be closer to the devices:
