This is one of my favorite RIDB's, and just found three of them in a small fishing box full of wheats. There was also a 1956-D/D/D/D RPM-005, and a BIE that I need to look up. Lots more little lure holes full of coins to poke through yet. 1956 Lincoln Wheat cent die event - RIDB-1C-1956-07

That is a fun find--not so much of a spike head as a yarmulke.

Love those worn dies of the 1950s.

Very cool find! Quote: That is a fun find--not so much of a spike head as a yarmulke. I was thinking more along the lines of a new Syfy movie, "SHARK Lincoln", looks like a little fin poking up at the O in the closeup.

That's huge! That would go into my favorite album! Thanks for sharing.
P.S. what is that protruding from the top front of the C in Cent ? It also has something just under the top. Die gouge ?

Yes, yarmulke! That is always how I've seen these as well. There are several on the Lincoln series that appear yarmulke-like. Hmmm, number 12? More like number 40 or so. No way I can post much of what I find or wouldn't be time to find much. Most just get attributed and set in a pile to get filed. Last night I also found four Retained Cuds on 1940-S coins, two of which are double-pre-cuds, as well as a 1983 "extra letters" which I may post tonight along with yet another 1959 D/D/D/D RPM-005 and a bunch of minor stuff. I just post the ones I think are most interesting or educational.

That is an exceptional die break. Always good to see MS examples. What countries to you collect bat data in? I do research in Belize.
