I'm at f15 and attractive for the grade.

It's on the F-15/VF-20 fence, but on balance I'm on the F-15 side of that fence. Nice surfaces and really decent eye appeal for the grade.

What's pulling you towards F-15? Just out of curiosity. I'm testing myself is why I am asking? Thanks for y'all time.

Obverse a little weak but still makes VF-20.

Quote: What's pulling you towards F-15? Just out of curiosity. I'm testing myself is why I am asking? Thanks for y'all time. On the obverse, the hair directly below "RT" of LIBERTY lacks definition. The middle strand of the bottom curl lacks separation. The obverse rim is nearly worn smooth in places. The fold of the cloth cap is almost merging with the cap. The hair above the eye has merged with the forehead. On the reverse, the verticals in the shield are merging. The feathers on the third arrow are merged. The top two leaves on the olive branch lack clarity. The inner feathers on the eagle's right wing (our visual left) are indistinct. The eagle's left talons (our visual right) lack detail. Some of this is strike weakness, but much of it is evidence of circulation. This coin is on the higher end of F-15, but IMHO falls short of VF-20. It's an eye pleasing coin. The surfaces are nice, and it has an overall consistent look. There isn't much price differential between F and lower VF. It's more about eye appeal than one-point moves in the technical grade for the F/VF coins of this date. Again, this is a nice coin.

Weak detail at the lower reverse and to a lesser extent at upper obverse makes it harder to justify a VF grade. Wonder if a misaligned die situation might apply? Color is nice and I don't see any significant hairline scratches. Decent circulated type coin.

Thank you fortcollins for your reply. It was the eye appeal that that had me. With a small discussion before the purchase we came to VF. Hope you don't mind me asking why the F-15 just want to see what I overlooked, or didn't notice on the coin. Thank you Jaobler that was my main concern. Thanks again all

Bit too flat for VF, and also the right bottom arrow is a bit weak. Very close to VF and I would say Obverse makes it. Liberty looks a bit flat and her lips look squashed.
F18/VF20
