Could be struck through a small strip of copper plating. I'd probably save this one in a 2x2. Nice find!

Yep, that is a nice little error in my book, id keep it since we probably won't see too many modern errors like this...

Looks like it was struck through a rim bur that came off another coin. The weight on your coin should be normal. On the other damaged coin, then it would be lighter.
