Dime not time. Sorry for the typo, it's my first posting on here and took a minute to learn my way around

If it weighs what a clad dime weighs, but does not appear to have a copper core, it is almost certainly silver plated, and quite probably in a high school lab experiment.

. I agree, most likely silver plated. An XRF test is your best bet.If the test you did was a XRF,then your next step is a TPG. John1

There were some 1965 dimes struck on 90% silver planchets, so it is remotely possible that you have one.
Edit: but not if it weighs the same as a clad dime.

Well if the weight is not correct, then it is probably a plated dime changing the color of the edge. This happened a lot because of the HSN selling quarters that were plated with gold and platinum. A simple test will give you the answer: In side of the reeds is where the plating was scrapped away.

Sorry, but as other people have stated, it is almost certainly plated.

If the weight is not correct for a silver planchet, then

If it weighs like a clad, it's probably a clad. Photos would greatly help us help you with the question of plating. to the CCF!

to CCF I would have to agree with the rest that it is plated. Need a photo or 2 to see what you are seeing and would be a great help.

Most likely plated. I have seen ones where the cladding partially comes down and blocks the for on a bit but I don't have one that has a completely cladded edge.
