At the very least it is double punched with a decent offset. Here is the link to the Haxby description of that obverse showing the CA and G repunching.

Here is the G from my coin.

Here is another nice one with the same 45a obverse paired with the K2c reverse. Haxby catalog # PC59-155. Also hard to find especially in this condition!

https://www.vickycents.com/rev-k2c.html

It appears the 45a obverse was retired after this pairing, but the reverse K2c was then paired with Obverse 45c.

I like terminal die state coins. With all the significant cracking, you have to wonder how it held together!

I really like the terminal states too. There's another one coming up from Bill's collection that you're going to like. I haven't got that one photographed yet.

Here are the photos of Haxby PC59-31, Obverse 15 and Reverse E17a. There are several engraving slips in the center of leaf 9 where the stem was being repaired. Even with the wear and crud on this coin, they are seen. There were 3 reverses paired with Obverse 15, (E17, E17a and E17b). The first one E17 is fairly common, but the 2 others are quite scarce.

There is also some minor doubling in the date. The 5 shows doubling at the tops, the 8 on the top left, and the 8 at the top left. The 5 and 9 are generally easily seen, the 8 needs a higher grade coin than I have.

Glad you're enjoying them.

Thanks Dan for pointing that out. Here's a photo of the date on a higher grade coin that I have in my collection.

Haxby PC59-51 Obverse 24 + Reverse E26a.

Obverse 24 was paired with 5 different reverse dies. E26a was the second. The die crack to the E of DEI is the best marker to identify Obverse 24. This pairing is the easiest of the 5 to find, but even this one is scarce. The rarity ratings for the 5 die pairs in order are are R-7, R-4, R-6, R-10 and R-8.

The last obverse I posted is Haxby obverse 24.
The one before that is Haxby obverse 15.
They are NOT the same obverses. Every Haxby die number is a different die.

Phil310 thank you for that information. so what you are saying is Haxby. system identify the dies that struck these coins. so would have the mint started this or did MR Haxby himself start the numbering system first. I can see I need to study this Haxby site thank you so much. a friend gave me this catalog written by Haxby and Willey. there is some very great information in this catalogue. Phil310 thank you so much

Phil310 I was wondering has anyone ever come across a coin. That did not match any of the die numbers in the Haxby catalogue site.

@rocky - the answer is yes. Go to https://www.vickycents.com/ and click on the news link. Several of us have discovered previously unknown dies and die pair combinations. At least 3 were by me.

The site went live in 2011. Since then approx. 12 new dies and 30 pairs have been added with about 6 removed because they were determined to be die states instead of individual dies.

Thanks to @Hax and @Phil310 and others for publishing this data for all collectors to study.
