Hey all,
This 2000d LMC has me scratching my head. I received this LMC in change today. I could tell at first glance something was off with it. It appears to be a match for the WDDO-01 plus. My question to the community is that this 2000d Cent has die markers, gouges and doubling matching multiple WDDR varieties. I'm not sure but it appears to be a new variety? I have marked the images with arrows. Black arrows pointing to the WDDO-01 variety and WDDR varieties die markers, gouges and doubling which match existing varieties. The red arrows are pointing out the die markers, gouges and doubling that are not listed on any of existing varieties or appear to independent to this coins die. I know that DDO/R varieties are each independent to an individual die. I'm hoping the community will help me identify whether this is a new DDR variety. The markers are visible and matching WDDR-01, 04, 05, 06 and 07 as well as other markers throughout the obverse and reverse. It also has what appears to be die gouges to the left of the monument. The gouges actually appear to be a possible match the left side of the monument base. You can see Liberty right across the steps to the monument. That stinks because the steps are in good condition. Almost full steps. I did do a coating test to make sure there wasn't a bubble issue on this coin. It is solid. I know it is alot of images everyone.
Thanks,

It is a totally normal coin, with issues. A bad plating job over zinc dust. Coin contact altering the shape of the devices/fields/bust/building. The typical weak strike on States is common to find. When the metal runs sort, then the devices are not as tall. Sometimes a Struck Through Grease issue can make the devices to look wider. But your coin is just a spender.

Agree with coop. Given the somewhat contrasty photos and the evidence of a bad plating job, all I'm seeing is a common 2000 D cent with moderate circulation wear (rubs, dings, etc.).

I see a completely normal penny with a Charlie Day Pepe Silvia Conspiracy amount of arrows drawn on it.

I appreciate the opinions and feedback from the community on this post. I see something in this coin. lol I won't be spending this 2000d cent. Into a capsule it will go. I can't ignore the polishing to remove the clashing from around Lincolns head. Lincolns hair on this cent, from some angles, looks worn down to the field/surface level.I also can't look past the die crack entering the top of his head, spike head, from the rim above which travels right next to his ear and out of his beard and into the date causing issue with the date.. I can't look past the three die cracks that travel into the back of Lincolns head. One of them marked his upper ear, one his mid and the other his lower ear lobe, causing appeared doubling, and then each independently traveling, one out his eye, one his nose and the last crack through his mouth. I finally can't ignore the die crack traveling through LIBERTY into Lincolns back which exits the lower vest and into the mint mark causing issues with the mint mark. I could repost all the die markers on the reverse but I think they were visible and pointed out in the photos above.
Thanks everybody,

This 2000d cent does have alot of issues. If it doesn't have a listing then it's normal they say. I wasn't looking for a handout but come on community. My dad use to tell me, " If you stick a persons face directly into the fire then don't be suprised when they look at you strangely afterwards".

Thanks,

The reason I say it's normal isn't because it doesn't have a listing. I say it's normal because there is absolutely no evidence of a doubled die or a die clash. Please spare us the melodrama. You have been told what we think, you can either take that advice or not, but don't be so pouty about the fact that we don't see whatever your 10,000 arrows are pointing at.

I was not aware was a limit in photos per post?. Is that like responses to posts that say absolutely nothing about the posts topic?. :-)
