I've heard so many different rumors or should I say assumptions about this coin!It is not magnetic like my 1943 steel penny? Does it mean something? coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/04/2021 3:29 pm If the weight is 3.11 grams or more. It is not a steel cent. (2.7 Grams for the steel cents) They didn't have steel planchets since 1943, So it is not a steel cent. Plating will show a slight attraction. But a steel cent will jump to a magnet.
