Just got this one yesterday . I think it may be VAM 30 The reverse scratch in front of the beak is a holder scratch. Hopefully you can judge by the pics I really like this coin. Not proof like but the obverse fields are getting close to it.

I'm at MS62, possibly MS63

I'm thinking MS-64. A cluster of marks on the neck, and a few near the curl at the ear. Otherwise a beauty.

Not a Morgan guy but I notice both yours and the one listed as VAM-30 http://vamworld.com/wiki/1901-O_VAM-30 both have the same die clash at the right wing and above the left wing leading towards "In". But it's not listed as a pick-up point.

I'm at MS62. Some hard hits on the neck.

the 01(O) are average strikes for the most part. the lower part of the right wing is quite weak. luster is broken on both sides. eye appeal is not the best. discoloration, marks & scuffs on both sides is going to hold this one to MS63 but not bad enough to drop it to a 62

62. Quite a few hits and luster seems a bit impaired.

This one is PCGS Graded MS-64 I think it is correctly graded though probably on the lower end of a 64 . Has Semi Prooflike obverse and shows all the marks , very attractive in hand though
