let me know if the toned '76 Ike is an error, variety or nothing

Ike-1976-$1.00-Copper-Patina-Discoloration---Error,-Variety-Or-Nothing?

The shapes & sizes are off since I had to take the photos at an angle to accent the colors

Nothing. The color was affected by the conditions it was stored in.

Another possibility is that it could be the 40% silver version, causing the difference of color. But the edge color indicated it is copper nickel clad, not silver clad.

Yes I agree with @jac that surface toning is neither an error nor a variety in and of itself.

Toning cannot be an error as it happens after the coin has been struck.

Bicentennial Ikes ('75-'76) are known to have a higher incidence of toning--such as yours. Examples from uncirculated mint sets are particularly affected. I have a few dozen in my toned Ike Dansco.

The beauty/value of a toned coin such as yours is in the eye of the beholder. Toning is officially considered damage, but some collectors like it, especially if they tone with multiple colours.

If it spent its life on the east coast, the sulfur in the air can affect metal toning it.
