Hey guys. The reverse of this 83 has two raised areas behind the columns. One running from sw to ne. The other running se to nw. They cross in the 5th memorial bay. Also below the memorial statue seems to be either a blister or doubling at the floor with the same hump a little further up just at the feet. Almost like steps but too thick in my opinion. In the second and 3rd memorial bays there are the appearance of columns on the upper portions of the bays. But they are not straight. The one in the 3rd bay is slanted se to nw. The one in the second bay comes out heading nw then turns straight up.
It's probably a plating issue but I wanted to check here. I really think I want to keep it regardless because the "columns" have fallen and are crossing in the background. All of the clatter back there puts me in mind of the movie White house down from 2013.
Thanks for all the info I know I will receive. God bless

Oh also in the 8th bay there are two horizontal appearances of columns or the size of columns running e to w. There is a black dot of corrosion and they are above/below.

On the obverse the elylid appears to be doubled as well. Directly in front. May be a plating issue.

I see some minor die clashing in the bays and some plating bubbles there and throughout the coin.

1983 zinc cent would most likely be linear plating bubbles, if a copper cent then die scratches would be my guess. I'm fairly sure this is a zinc cent by the look of it though, if so weight should be 2.5g

You have the full gambit going on here. There does look to be a clash showing through in bay 2, as CoinHI has mentioned, there is a linear plating bubble crossing bays 5, 6, and 7. The thickness you see in various places is from Die Deterioration. There are also many die scratches/abrasions all over the fields. A very common 83 though.

Remember that some 82's and 83 forward, are struck on copper plated zinc planchets. If it were copper, which it is not, the OP would have hit the coin lottery.

On the reverse I'm thinking a die scratch on the bays. Note that it doesn't flow over the columns? If it were a linear plating blister, it would probably flow over the tops:

Yes. The columns go over the two crossing whatever they are. They are raised and rounded. And yes if it were copper I would be doing some celebrating! Hey I put it in a 2x2 anyway. It's just cool. I thing the crossing bars are blistering I guess. But the reason I posted at all was because of what @coop mentioned. The columns go over these.
